About The Privacy Wire

The Privacy Wire is an independent publication covering the tools, habits, and news that matter to people who want to protect their data. We're a small Singapore-based team that builds and operates networking and security infrastructure for a living, so our coverage comes from working with this stuff hands-on, not from rewriting press releases or piling on scare stories.

Our editorial line is simple: test before we recommend, name the trade-offs, and set realistic expectations. There is no such thing as perfect privacy, so we talk about threat models and what a given tool actually protects you from. Privacy tooling moves fast, so we date our pieces and revisit the ones that go stale.

We cover four things: VPNs and proxies, privacy tools (password managers, encrypted messengers, browsers, 2FA), opsec guides for reducing what you leak, and security news explained in plain English.
